Seinäjoen seurakunta perustettiin vuonna 1863. Asukkaita perustamisvuonna oli noin 1500, mistä seurakunta on kasvanut noin 50 000 jäsenen vilkkaaksi ja aktiiviseksi yhteisöksi. Seinäjoen seurakuntaa kuuluu Seinäjoen alueseurakunta sekä Nurmon, Ylistaron ja Peräseinäjoen kappeliseurakunnat.
